In-school visit
Does your school have a problem with mathematics? Bubbly Maths specialises in making maths fun for primary schools that have problems with maths and want their teachers, children and parents to experience excitement whilst doing enjoyable mathematics. Our method is to make maths fun using clowning, soap bubbles and balloons in assemblies and workshops during a Bubbly Maths Day or family learning session. Our resources were developed with mathematical learning experts from NRICH at Cambridge University and focus on shape, space and measurement. Imagine your children giggling about maths with eyes glowing with excitement, followed by teachers coming to you freshly inspired and raring to go, armed with resources to support their journey. Our workshops and INSET sessions are focussed on the life skills of: - First and foremost - Enjoying the Ride - Confidence - Enthusiasm - Visualisation - Independent learning - Decision making - Problem solving I tell, you hear. I show, you see. You do, you work it out. We have activities for ages 3 to 11 and a Bubbly Maths Day is designed as an assessment and Professional Development opportunity for teachers. If this sounds perfect for you, please contact us so we can make maths FUN at your school as soon as possible!

The main aims of having Bubblz the Maths Clown was to inspire pupils; to start to break down the attitudes to Maths and Engineering; to start to raise the aspirations of pupils/ parents; to inspire staff to make the maths curriculum more interesting and varied. The meeting of these aims has been helped by having Bubblz and we are now entering a programme of development to build on this start. The activity was appropriate for all ages in school (7-11) plus we had a year 2 class from our partner infant school visiting for transition and it was suitable for them as well. The one thing that I would remind schools is that as stated expenses are not included in the day cost.
Bubblz the Clown helped pupils to visualise 3D shapes in a unique, fun way. The pupils were encouraged to work together to create amazing shapes with balloons. It was a different experience of learning Maths using unusual resources which all the pupils and staff thoroughly enjoyed. We were all amazed when we saw pupils and staff in a bubble. It gave the pupils the opportunity to explore and investigate Maths concepts in an interesting way. There was great enthusiasm to learning. We are now working on continuing the good work which has been started by exploring shapes using some of the other materials recommended by Bubblz.
