Starchaser's Cosmic Chemistry Show discusses key aspects of the Universe from the Big Bang to the formation of the solar system. Audience participation illustrates the process of nuclear fusion turning hydrogen into helium within the Sun. Concepts such as the solar wind, the magnetosphere and auroras are introduced and further reinforced via a spectacular demonstration involving the creation of plasma in a classroom environment. Comets are introduced as the building blocks of the solar system and a “working scale replica” of a comet is created at -78° Celsius. Other exciting experiments cover the Earth's hydrosphere and show how the search for liquid water is prerequisite in terms of the search for extraterrestrial life. Up to 5 sessions per day.
