Hands-On Maths Roadshow
Millennium Mathematics Project
In-school visit
The Hands-On Maths Roadshow aims to develop mathematical thinking and strategic reasoning skills through hands-on mathematical games, puzzles and activities which we bring to your school for a special maths event. We can tailor the Roadshow to age ranges from KS1 to KS3/4, with activities for all abilities. Sessions typically involve around 30 pupils each and last between 30-75 minutes depending on age. Each session starts with a whole-group introduction and warm-up activity; pupils then work on the hands-on activities in groups of 2 or 3, with a final 5-minute discussion drawing the session to a close. We provide free follow-up activities online through the NRICH website (http://nrich.maths.org).

The day was considered either ‘good’ or ‘very good’. Very interesting with a wide range of activity that helped students see how maths is inherent within different real life situations.
An engaging activity which all students enjoyed thoroughly.
Our year 7′s really enjoyed this event, especially the interactive game show at the end. There was a good variety of activities and pupils really got a feel for the life applications of probability and risk. We will be looking into putting a similar show on again next year. Thanks guys!
High quality sessions, busy and well delivered. LOTS of parent/adult help needed! Worth every penny. Teachers gained lots of ideas from the sessions.
A fantastic day that all of our children enjoyed thanks to a wide range of interactive activities and a very laid back approach.
