In-school visit
We provide a pupil-centred day of activities, tailored to a school’s needs and engaging pupils of any age or ability. The Liverpool Mathematical Society’s FunMaths Roadshow currently consists of 14 sets of 25 activities; each set targets a given age range, and contains some easy and some quite challenging activities, allowing all participants to succeed. Some of these resources are available in a range of languages. The Dragon Quiz is a team-based competitive relay, solving mathematical problems either from appropriate exams or in context. We also offer GCSE Revision Days at C/D and A/A* for all specifications. Each day comprises two 2-hour long sessions, each for a group of up to 48 pupils. Our new BIG Maths workshop is also available and is an excellent transition session. It uses large scale resources and is best led by secondary school pupils for teams of Year 6s. For further information about all of the above, and for details of our full range of workshops for all ages, please contact us or see our website. Events can lead to further discussion in lessons, and will generally help to improve pupils’ perception of mathematics, and their problem-solving and communication skills.
