Advanced Water Rocket Workshop

A day long workshop exploring rocket science. Pupils build simple water rockets and then use a wind tunnel and data logging equipment to investigate aerodynamics and how pressure and temperature vary inside the rocket body and how this relates to the thrust produced. Pupils then explore rocket engineering, culminating in the construction of more powerful, two stage motors and different methods of safely returning a payload to earth.
